When was the Chevrolet C1500 introduced to public?

The Chevrolet C1500 was first introduced in 1988 as a part of the GMT400 platform of pickup trucks and SUVs produced by General Motors. It replaced the previous generation of C/K trucks that had been in production since 1973. The Chevrolet C1500, and its GMC-branded counterpart the Sierra 1500, continued to be produced through numerous changes and updates with multiple engines options and drivetrain options until it was succeeded by the Chevy Silverado 1500 in 1999.
