Park your car in a safe location and turn off the engine.
Open the trunk of your car.
Locate the license plate light assembly. It is usually located on the inside of the trunk lid.
Use a screwdriver or other thin object to pry open the license plate light assembly.
Locate the light bulb and twist it counterclockwise to remove it.
Insert the new light bulb and twist it clockwise until it is secure.
Snap the license plate light assembly back into place.
Test the new light bulb by turning on the headlights.

Make sure that you have the correct light bulb for your car. You can find the correct bulb type in your car's owner's manual.
Be careful not to drop the light bulb. If you do, it could shatter and create a mess.
