1. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan. It is usually a 17mm bolt.
2. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug.
3. Loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain into the oil drain pan.
4. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug.
5. Locate the oil filter on the top of the engine. It is usually a cylindrical-shaped object with a black cap.
6. Remove the oil filter cap and remove the old oil filter.
7. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
8. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter housing until it is snug.
9. Add new engine oil to the engine through the oil fill cap. The oil fill cap is usually located on the top of the engine.
10. Check the oil level on the oil dipstick. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
