Where is the crank sensor on a 2000 E320 Mercedes Benz?

**Crank (RPM) Sensor Location & Removal for W210 E-Class (V6 Engine)

Tools Required

-Ratchet

-10 mm socket & extension

-Flat-head screwdriver

1. Access the engine from underneath the car.

2. Locate the crankshaft position sensor on the front timing case cover near the oil filter housing.

3. Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor by depressing the release tab and pulling the connector straight up.

4. Remove the two 10 mm bolts holding the sensor to the timing case using the extension.

5. Pull the sensor straight out from the timing case (there will be some oil leakage).

6. Clean the mating surfaces of the sensor and timing case.

Note: Be sure not to allow oil to drip into the engine.

7. Apply a small amount of sealant to the new sensor’s threads and screw it into place.

8. Install the two 10 mm bolts and torque to 14 N·m (124 in·lb).

9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor.
