- 10mm socket wrench
- Torx T30 screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver
- New camshaft sensor
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the battery. This is a safety precaution to prevent any electrical accidents.
2. Remove the upper timing belt cover. There are several bolts that need to be removed to do this.
3. Locate the camshaft sensor. It is located on the front of the engine, near the top of the cylinder head.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft sensor.
5. Remove the two Torx T30 screws that hold the camshaft sensor in place.
6. Remove the old camshaft sensor. Be careful not to drop it into the engine.
7. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the o-ring on the new camshaft sensor.
8. Install the new camshaft sensor. Tighten the two Torx T30 screws to secure it in place.
9. Reconnect the electrical connector to the camshaft sensor.
10. Reinstall the upper timing belt cover.
11. Reconnect the battery.
12. Start the engine and check for leaks.
