- 12 mm socket wrench
- Screwdriver
- Pliers
Instructions
1. Park the Vinson on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the brake cable adjuster located on the left side of the handlebars next to the brake lever.
3. Use the 12 mm socket wrench to loosen the locknut on the adjuster. Turn the adjuster counterclockwise to loosen it.
4. Once the locknut is loose, turn the adjuster clockwise until the brake lever has some resistance when pulled. The lever should not be too tight or too loose.
5. Tighten the locknut to maintain the adjustment.
6. Test the brake lever to make sure that it is adjusted properly. The lever should move smoothly and engage the rear brakes effectively.
7. If necessary, make minor adjustments to the adjuster until you achieve the desired braking performance.
Additional Tips:
- For a more precise adjustment, use the pliers to fine-tune the adjuster.
- Regularly inspect the brake cable for fraying or damage. If the cable is worn or damaged, it should be replaced.
- Maintaining proper brake cable adjustment ensures safety while riding.
