Intake Valve:
* Cold: 0.003 - 0.005 inches (0.08 - 0.13 mm)
* Hot: 0.004 - 0.006 inches (0.10 - 0.15 mm)
Exhaust Valve:
* Cold: 0.005 - 0.007 inches (0.13 - 0.18 mm)
* Hot: 0.006 - 0.008 inches (0.15 - 0.20 mm)
To adjust the valve clearances, you will need the following tools:
* A feeler gauge
* A wrench
* A screwdriver
Here are the steps on how to adjust the valve clearances:
1. Allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Remove the spark plug wire.
3. Remove the valve cover.
4. Locate the intake and exhaust valves.
5. Insert the feeler gauge between the valve stem and the rocker arm.
6. If the feeler gauge does not fit, use the wrench to adjust the valve clearance.
7. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to decrease the valve clearance and counterclockwise to increase the valve clearance.
8. Reinsert the feeler gauge to check the clearance.
9. Repeat steps 5-8 for the exhaust valve.
10. Replace the valve cover.
11. Reattach the spark plug wire.
