1. Gather the necessary tools and materials.
- New oil filter (Yamaha part number 13V-13440-00-00)
- New oil (SAE 10W-40 or 20W-40, API service classification SF or SG, approximately 1.2 liters or 1.28 US quarts)
- Oil drain pan
- Funnel
- Wrench
- Rags
2. Warm up the engine.
- Start the three-wheeler and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the engine and oil.
3. Drain the old oil.
- Place the oil drain pan under the three-wheeler's oil drain bolt, which is located on the bottom of the engine.
- Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain bolt.
- Allow the old oil to drain completely.
4. Replace the oil filter.
- Locate the oil filter, which is usually near the top of the engine.
- Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter.
- Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
- Screw the new oil filter onto the engine by hand until it is snug, then tighten it an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn with the wrench.
5. Add new oil.
- Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine through the oil fill port, which is usually located on the top of the engine.
- Add the correct amount of oil according to the owner's manual (approximately 1.2 liters or 1.28 US quarts).
6. Check the oil level.
- Use the dipstick to check the oil level.
- The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
7. Start the engine.
- Start the three-wheeler and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check for any oil leaks.
8. Dispose of the old oil and filter properly.
- Take the old oil and filter to a recycling center or dispose of them according to local regulations.
