1. Park your Sidekick on level ground.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Open the hood of your Sidekick.
4. Locate the oil filter housing. On the 1995 Sidekick, the oil filter housing is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the top.
5. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter.
6. Remove the oil filter and allow any remaining oil to drain from the filter housing.
7. Inspect the oil filter for signs of wear or damage. If the filter is damaged, replace it with a new one.
8. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
9. Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter housing until it is snug.
10. Lower the hood of your Sidekick.
