Oil drain for a 2000 ultra classic?

For a 2000 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, you will need the following:

* 5 quarts of 20W-50 motor oil

* New oil filter (Harley-Davidson part number 63731-87A)

* Oil drain pan

* Funnel

* 17mm wrench

* Rags

Instructions:

1. Make sure the engine is cool.

2. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug, which is located on the bottom of the engine, just below the oil filter.

3. Use the 17mm wrench to loosen the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the bolt into the oil pan.

4. Allow the oil to drain completely. This may take several minutes.

5. Replace the oil drain plug. Snug it up with the 17mm wrench.

6. Locate the oil filter. It is on the left side of the engine, just above the oil drain plug.

7. Use the 17mm wrench to loosen the oil filter. Be careful not to spill any oil.

8. Remove the old oil filter and inspect it for damage. If the filter is damaged, replace it with a new one.

9. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

10. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter.

11. Add 5 quarts of 20W-50 motor oil to the engine.

12. Check the oil level with the dipstick. The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.

13. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

14. Check for leaks. If there are no leaks, turn off the engine.

15. Dispose of the old oil and filter properly.

Tips:

* It is a good idea to change the oil and oil filter on your Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic every 3,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.

* If you are riding in dusty or dirty conditions, you may need to change the oil more frequently.

* Always use high-quality motor oil and an oil filter that is specifically designed for your motorcycle.

* Be sure to dispose of the old oil and filter properly.
