The rear end of the 2005 Suzuki Vinson 4x4 ATV has a capacity of approximately 250 ml (8.5 fluid ounces) of oil.
Recommended Oil Type
Suzuki recommends using SAE 90 hypoid gear oil for the rear end of the Vinson 4x4 ATV. This type of oil is designed for use in high-pressure, high-temperature applications and provides excellent lubrication and protection for the gears and bearings in the rear end.
Some popular brands of SAE 90 hypoid gear oil include:
* Valvoline SynPower SAE 90 Hypoid Gear Oil
* Castrol Hypoy-C SAE 90 Gear Oil
* Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90
Changing the Rear End Oil
The rear end oil should be changed every 600 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. The oil can be changed by following these steps:
1. Park the ATV on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the rear end housing.
3. Allow the old oil to drain completely into a suitable container.
4. Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely.
5. Remove the fill plug from the top of the rear end housing.
6. Add new SAE 90 hypoid gear oil to the rear end housing until it reaches the fill hole.
7. Replace the fill plug and tighten it securely.
Checking the Rear End Oil Level
The rear end oil level should be checked regularly to ensure that the rear end is properly lubricated. The oil level can be checked by following these steps:
1. Park the ATV on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.
2. Remove the fill plug from the top of the rear end housing.
3. Use a dipstick or your finger to check the oil level. The oil should be at or slightly above the fill hole.
4. If the oil level is low, add new SAE 90 hypoid gear oil to the rear end housing until it reaches the fill hole.
5. Replace the fill plug and tighten it securely.
