Here's why:
* 4-cycle engines have a separate oil reservoir. They don't mix oil and gasoline like 2-cycle engines.
* Briggs & Stratton recommends using 87 octane unleaded gasoline. You can use higher octane fuel, but it's not necessary.

* Never use ethanol-free gasoline. This can cause engine damage and shorten the life of your lawnmower.
* Always use fresh gasoline. Old gasoline can gum up the engine and cause problems.
