1. Consult your owner's manual: This is the most reliable way to locate the fuse. The manual will have a diagram of the fuse box showing the location of each fuse and its corresponding circuit.
2. Look for a fuse box diagram inside the underhood fuse box cover: Many fuse boxes have a diagram printed on the inside of the cover. This diagram often indicates the fuse for the rear defroster.
3. Look for a fuse labeled "Rear Defogger," "Rear Window Defroster," or a similar label: The label might be abbreviated.
4. If you can't find it visually: Use a multimeter to check each fuse in the underhood fuse box. You'll want to check the fuse rating to know which setting to use on the multimeter. Note that some vehicles have separate relays in addition to fuses.
