A "lamp out" warning light on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500's dashboard means that one or more of your exterior lights (headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, etc.) is burned out or not functioning correctly. The truck's system has detected a malfunction in the lighting circuit.
You should check all your exterior lights to identify which one(s) are not working. A simple visual inspection is usually sufficient.
