What is a fuel system fuse?
A fuel system fuse is a safety device in a vehicle's electrical system that protects the circuits supplying power to components related to the fuel delivery system. This typically includes the fuel pump, but might also cover fuel injectors, fuel level sensors, and other electrically powered fuel system parts. If a short circuit or overload occurs in these circuits, the fuse will blow (melt) to prevent damage to the wiring, components, or even a fire. Essentially, it's a sacrificial device protecting the more expensive and potentially dangerous parts of the fuel system.
