What is a 4.3 motor?

A "4.3 liter motor" (often shortened to "4.3 motor") refers to an internal combustion engine with a total displacement of 4.3 liters. The displacement is the total volume of all the cylinders in the engine. This number doesn't specify the *type* of engine (V6, V8, inline, etc.) or the manufacturer, just the size. Many different manufacturers have produced engines with a 4.3L displacement, most notably General Motors (GM) which used a popular 4.3L V6 in various vehicles for many years.
