What is the difference in a TH 350 and turbo trans?

The main difference between a TH350 and a Turbo 350 (often shortened to Turbo Hydra-Matic 350, or just TH350) is that they are *the same transmission*. There's no separate "turbo trans" that's different from a TH350. The name "Turbo Hydra-Matic" itself is a marketing term; it doesn't refer to a turbocharger being used in the transmission. It refers to the torque converter's design, which allows for quicker and smoother shifts than some earlier automatics.
