Which combustion chambers use glow plug in diesel engines?

Glow plugs are not used in the combustion chambers of diesel engines. Glow plugs are used in *indirect injection* gasoline engines (and some other gasoline engine types) to aid in cold starting by heating the combustion chamber. Diesel engines rely on the heat generated by compression to ignite the fuel.

While some diesel engines might have *auxiliary heaters* that are sometimes mistakenly referred to as glow plugs, these are separate from the combustion chamber and function differently. They preheat the engine block or coolant to improve starting in extremely cold conditions, not the combustion air directly.
