1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This is important to do any time you are working on the electrical system of a vehicle.
2. Remove the air intake tube. The air intake tube is located between the throttle body and the air filter housing. To remove it, loosen the hose clamp that secures it to the throttle body and pull it off.
3. Remove the throttle position sensor. The throttle position sensor is located on the side of the throttle body. To remove it, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the two bolts that hold it in place.
4. Remove the idle air control valve. The idle air control valve is located on the bottom of the throttle body. To remove it, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the two bolts that hold it in place.
5. Remove the throttle body. The throttle body is held in place by four bolts. To remove it, remove the four bolts and lift it off of the intake manifold.
6. Clean the throttle body. Once the throttle body is removed, you can clean it with a throttle body cleaner. To do this, spray the cleaner into the throttle body and use a rag to wipe it clean.
7. Reinstall the throttle body. Once the throttle body is clean, reinstall it in reverse order of removal.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Once the throttle body is reinstalled, reconnect the negative battery cable.
