How do you change a fuel pump in 2000 ford f150 v8 4.6?

Remove the fuel tank

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Raise the rear of the truck using a jack or ramps.

3. Locate the fuel tank filler neck.

4. Remove the fuel filler cap and disconnect the filler neck.

5. Support the fuel tank using a jack or jacks.

6. Remove the fuel tank retaining straps.

7. Carefully lower the fuel tank from the truck.

Remove the fuel pump

1. Disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines from the fuel pump.

2. Unscrew the fuel pump retaining ring and remove the pump from the tank.

3. Discard the old fuel pump and gasket.

Install the new fuel pump

1. Inspect the new fuel pump for any damage.

2. Install the new fuel pump gasket onto the fuel pump.

3. Screw the fuel pump retaining ring into place.

4. Connect the electrical connector and fuel lines to the fuel pump.

5. Carefully lower the fuel tank back into the truck.

6. Install the fuel tank retaining straps.

7. Connect the fuel filler neck and install the fuel filler cap.

8. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Start the engine and check for leaks.
