1. Using a Slide Hammer
- A slide hammer is a tool that can be used to pull out the ignition cylinder. To use it, first, insert the slide hammer into the ignition cylinder and turn the lock cylinder clockwise and counterclockwise. Insert the slide hammer into the ignition lock cylinder and turn it clockwise and counterclockwise until it clicks and loosens.
- Once loosened, pull out the ignition cylinder from the housing using the slide hammer's slide lever or puller.
2. Using a Drill and Screwdriver
- If you don't have a slide hammer, you can use a drill and screwdriver. Start by drilling a small hole in the center of the ignition lock cylinder. Then insert a flat-head screwdriver into the hole and twist it clockwise until the lock cylinder loosens.
- Once it's loose, you can pull it out with your hands or a pair of pliers.
3. Using a Lock Pick Set
- If you have a lock pick set, you can also use it to remove the ignition switch cylinder. To do so, insert one of the lock picks into the ignition cylinder and turn it until the lock cylinder loosens.
- Once it's loose, you can pull it out with your hands.
4. Using a Hammer and Chisel
- If you don't have a slide hammer, drill, or lock pick set, you can also try to remove the ignition switch cylinder using a hammer and chisel. To do so, place a chisel on the outside of the ignition lock housing. Hit the chisel with a hammer until the lock cylinder loosens.
- Once it's loose, you can pry it out with your hands or a pry bar.
Remember that attempting to remove the ignition cylinder without a key can be challenging, and it's easy to damage the lock mechanism or the surrounding parts. If you're not confident in your skills, you may want to take your car to a professional locksmith.
