* A new hose (sized to fit your car's engine)
* A hose clamp
* A screwdriver
* A pair of pliers
* A funnel
* Coolant (if you are replacing a coolant hose)
2. Prepare your car. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the parking brake. Open the hood or bonnet.
3. Locate the hose that you need to replace. Follow the hose from its source (e.g. water pump, radiator) to its destination (e.g. engine block, thermostat).
4. Disconnect the old hose. Use a screwdriver or pliers to loosen the hose clamp that secures the old hose in place. Once the hose clamp is loose, slide it off the hose and pull the hose off its fitting.
5. Install the new hose. Slide the new hose onto the fitting and secure it with the hose clamp. Make sure that the hose is not twisted or kinked.
6. Add coolant (if necessary). If you are replacing a coolant hose, you will need to add coolant to your car's engine. Use a funnel to carefully pour the coolant into the coolant reservoir.
7. Close the hood or bonnet. Once you are finished, close the hood or bonnet and start your car. Check for any leaks. If you see any leaks, stop the engine immediately and tighten the hose clamps until the leaks stop.
