2. Remove the bolts that hold the water pump in place. There are typically four or six bolts.
3. Carefully remove the water pump from the engine.
4. Clean the mating surface of the water pump and the engine block.
5. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the mating surface of the water pump.
6. Reinstall the water pump and tighten the bolts.
7. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
