Can you turn engine to bolt flywheel with out distributor?

Yes, you can turn the engine without a distributor in order to bolt the flywheel. Here are the steps on how to do it:

- Remove the spark plugs. This will allow the engine to turn more freely.

- Insert a breaker bar into the flywheel bolt hole.

- Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise until the piston in the #1 cylinder is at top dead center(TDC) This can be determined by aligning the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover.

- Once the piston in the #1 cylinder is at TDC, you can insert the flywheel bolts or studs and tighten them securely.

Note: When you reinstall the distributor ensure, ensure rotor points to terminal number -#1 in the distributor cap when the engine’s ignition timing is set to TDC

By following these steps, you can safely turn the engine without a distributor in order to bolt the flywheel.
