1. Speedometer cable: Check the speedometer cable for damage or breaks. If the cable is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
2. Odometer/trip gears: The odometer and trip gears are located inside the instrument cluster. If these gears are damaged or worn out, they will need to be replaced.
3. Instrument cluster: The instrument cluster itself could be faulty. If this is the case, the entire cluster will need to be replaced.
To diagnose the problem, you will need to remove the instrument cluster from the car. This can be done by removing the screws that hold the cluster in place. Once the cluster is removed, you will be able to inspect the speedometer cable and the odometer/trip gears.
