1. Disconnect the spark plug wire.
2. Remove the air filter cover.
3. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor.
4. Remove the throttle linkage from the carburetor.
5. Remove the choke linkage from the carburetor.
6. Remove the bolts that hold the carburetor to the engine.
7. Carefully lift the carburetor off of the engine.
Be sure to take note of the location of all of the gaskets and seals so that you can reinstall them correctly when you put the carburetor back together.
Here are some additional tips for removing the carburetor from an Onan 4.0 generator:
- Make sure that the generator is cool before you start working on it.
- Use a screwdriver or other pry tool to gently pry the carburetor off of the engine if it is stuck.
- Be careful not to damage the carburetor or any of the surrounding components when removing it.
- If you are having difficulty removing the carburetor, consult a qualified technician for assistance.
