- Spark plug wires: Make sure that the spark plug wires are properly connected and that they are not damaged.
- Spark plugs: Make sure that the spark plugs are properly seated and that they are the correct type for your engine.
- Fuel filter: A clogged fuel filter can cause a loss of power and can also trigger the engine light.
- Air filter: A dirty air filter can also cause a loss of power.
- Oxygen sensor: A faulty oxygen sensor can also cause a loss of power and can trigger the engine light.
-Distributor cap and/or rotor. If your vehicle is older than 2010, it is possible that your spark plugs are connected to a distributor cap and rotor. Make sure that the distributor cap and rotor are properly seated and that they are not damaged.
