1. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt
2. Remove the serpentine belt
3. Reinstall the new belt, starting with the crankshaft pulley
4. Loop the belt around the tensioner pulley
5. Hand tighten the tensioner pulley bolt
6. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt to the specified torque
7. Check all the pulleys to ensure the belt is properly seated
8. Reconnect the negative terminal of your car battery
Here are some additional tips for replacing a serpentine belt:
- Make sure the replacement belt is the same size as the original belt.
- If the tensioner pulley is difficult to turn, it may need to be replaced.
- If the belt is making noise, it may be too loose or too tight.
- If the belt is glazed or cracked, it should be replaced.
