1. Check the battery: a weak or dead battery can prevent the starter from engaging. Make sure the battery is fully charged and the connections are clean and tight.
2. Check the ignition switch: the ignition switch may be faulty or worn out, preventing it from sending power to the starter. Try jiggling the key in the ignition or using a spare key to see if it makes a difference.
3. Check the starter: the starter itself may be faulty or have a bad connection. Try tapping the starter with a hammer or metal object while someone else tries to start the engine. If the engine starts, the starter may need to be replaced or repaired.
4. Check the wiring: there may be a loose or broken wire in the starter circuit. Check the wiring harness and connections to make sure everything is secure and in good condition.
