- Binding by Piston Skirt:
- Remove distributor and use a broom stick to hold open the lifters.
- Rotate the crankshaft so the piston is at BDC.
- Now try rotating the camshaft again.
- Excessive Loctite:
- The camshaft may be stuck from excessive amounts of thread locker used during installation.
- Apply heat to the cam bearing journal near the cam gear using a heat gun.
- Bent Camshaft:
- This will require further inspection to make sure this isn't the cause.
- Damaged Keyway:
- Inspect the front part of the camshaft for damage here.
