Step 2: Loosen the alternator adjustment bolt. The alternator adjustment bolt is located on the back of the alternator, near the top. It is a 13mm bolt.
Step 3: Move the alternator to loosen the belt. Once the alternator adjustment bolt is loosened, you can move the alternator towards the engine. This will loosen the belt.
Step 4: Remove the old belt. Once the belt is loose, you can remove it from the pulleys.
Step 5: Install the new belt. Take the new belt and route it around the pulleys in the same way as the old belt was installed.
Step 6: Tighten the alternator adjustment bolt. Once the new belt is installed, tighten the alternator adjustment bolt. Tighten the bolt until the belt is snug, but not too tight.
Step 7: Test the belt. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations. If you hear any unusual noises, turn off the engine and inspect the belt.
Step 8: Check the belt tension. After the engine has been running for a few minutes, check the belt tension. The belt should be snug, but not too tight. If the belt is too tight, it can damage the alternator or the crankshaft pulley. If the belt is too loose, it can slip off the pulleys.
Step 9: Adjust the belt tension if necessary. If the belt tension is too tight or too loose, you will need to adjust it. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the alternator adjustment bolt and move the alternator towards the engine or away from the engine until the belt is snug, but not too tight. Once the belt is properly tensioned, tighten the alternator adjustment bolt.
