Fuel mixture: Too much (rich) or too little (lean) fuel in the mixture can cause problems.
* Spark plug: Check the spark plug for signs of fouling, wear, or damage.
* Air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can reduce airflow and affect starting.
* Fuel line or carburetor: Check for fuel restrictions or a clogged carburetor.
* Starter clutch: This may be failing to adequately engage.
* Decompression lever: When it sticks that affects your compression when attempting to start by kick start. That would make it feel extremely harder because of lack of compression at top dead center to get the kick.
