1. Park both vehicles in a safe location. Turn off the engines of both vehicles and set the parking brakes.
2. Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals on both batteries. The positive terminal is usually marked with a red cover or a plus sign (+), while the negative terminal is usually marked with a black cover or a minus sign (-).
3. Connect the positive (+) cable from the jumper car to the positive (+) terminal on the dead battery. Make sure the cables do not touch each other or any other metal parts.
4. Connect the negative (-) cable from the jumper car to the negative (-) terminal on the dead battery. Again, make sure the cables do not touch each other or any other metal parts.
5. Start the jumper car and let it run for a few minutes. This will help to charge the dead battery.
6. Try to start the dead vehicle. If the vehicle does not start, let it charge for a few more minutes and then try again.
7. Once the vehicle has started, leave it running for a few minutes. This will help to ensure that the battery is fully charged.
8. Disconnect the jumper cables in the reverse order that you connected them. First, disconnect the negative (-) cable at the dead vehicle's battery, and then disconnect the positive (+) cable at the donor vehicle's battery.
9. Close the hoods of both vehicles.
