2. Remove the air filter box. There are two plastic clips that hold it in place. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry them open and remove the air filter box.
3. Locate the EGR valve. It is a metal cylinder with two vacuum hoses connected to it. It is located on the back of the engine, near the firewall.
4. Remove the vacuum hoses. Use a pair of pliers to loosen the hose clamps and pull the hoses off of the EGR valve.
5. Remove the EGR valve. There are two bolts that hold it in place. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts and remove the EGR valve.
6. Clean the EGR valve. Use a carburetor cleaner to clean the inside of the EGR valve. Make sure to remove all of the carbon deposits.
7. Reinstall the EGR valve. Reverse the steps above to reinstall the EGR valve.
