- Park your Jetta on a level surface and turn off the engine.
- Open the hood of your Jetta.
- Locate the plastic cover on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the windshield.
- Remove the cover by pressing on the release tabs and lifting it off.
- Locate the pollen filter, which is a rectangular, foam-like filter located behind the cover.
- Remove the pollen filter by pulling it straight out of the housing.
- Inspect the filter for dirt and debris. If the filter is dirty, replace it with a new one.
- Reinstall the pollen filter and the plastic cover.
