Procedure:

1. Prepare the Vehicle:

- Engage the parking brake and disconnect the negative terminal from the car battery to ensure safety during the repair process.

- Raise the front end of your Touareg using ramps or a car jack and secure it with jack stands. Make sure the vehicle is level and safe to work underneath.

2. Drain the Oil:

- Locate the oil drain plug underneath the oil pan.

- Place the oil drain pan below the drain plug and loosen the plug using a 16 mm wrench.

- Allow the old oil to completely drain into the pan.

3. Remove the Oil Filter:

- Locate the oil filter housing, which is usually near the top of the engine.

- Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter and remove it. Be careful not to spill any remaining oil.

4. Remove the Oil Pump:

- Locate the oil pump, which is usually on the front of the engine block.

- Remove the mounting bolts using a 10 mm and 13 mm socket.

- Disconnect the oil lines connected to the oil pump.

- Gently remove the old oil pump, taking note of the seal ring and gasket.

5. Prepare the Replacement Pump:

- Apply a thin layer of engine sealant to the gasket surface of the oil pump.

- Position the new seal ring in place.

6. Install the New Oil Pump:

- Carefully position the new oil pump in its place and secure it with the mounting bolts removed earlier. Tighten the bolts to specification.

- Reinstall the oil lines by ensuring that they are appropriately secured and free from leaks.

7. Install a New Oil Filter:

- Apply a thin layer of oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.

- Screw the new oil filter onto the oil filter housing by hand until snug. Do not overtighten.

8. Refill the Engine Oil:

- Locate the oil filler cap on top of the engine and open it.

- Using a funnel, pour in new engine oil as per the vehicle's owner's manual recommendation.

- Replace the oil filler cap.

9. Test for Leaks:

- Check for any oil leaks underneath the car. If you notice leaks, re-tighten the oil drain plug, oil filter, or relevant connections as necessary.
