The B-52 Stratofortress has a maximum fuel capacity of 316,000 pounds (143,000 kg). This fuel is stored in eight internal fuel tanks and four external fuel tanks. The internal fuel tanks are located in the wings and fuselage of the aircraft, while the external fuel tanks are mounted under the wings. The B-52 can also carry up to 27,000 pounds (12,200 kg) of additional fuel in two external fuel tanks that can be mounted on the wingtips.
The B-52's fuel capacity gives it a long range and endurance. The aircraft can fly for up to 12 hours without refueling and can cover a distance of up to 8,800 miles (14,160 km). This range and endurance make the B-52 a valuable asset for long-range bombing missions.
