How did the Germans react to invention of tank?

The German military was initially skeptical about the potential of the tank, but quickly recognized the advantages it offered. The Germans developed their own tank designs and used them to great effect in World War I, particularly during the Schlieffen Plan. Germany continued to develop and improve their tanks throughout the interwar period and into World War II.
