How do you check the engine oil in Yamaha 400 kodiak?

To check the engine oil in a Yamaha 400 Kodiak, follow these steps:

1. Park the Kodiak on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Allow the engine to cool down for a few minutes.

3. Locate the oil dipstick. It is a thin metal rod with a yellow handle located on the right side of the engine, near the oil filter.

4. Remove the dipstick by pulling it straight up.

5. Wipe the dipstick clean with a rag.

6. Reinsert the dipstick into the engine until it is seated properly.

7. Pull the dipstick out again and check the oil level. The oil should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.

8. If the oil level is low, add the recommended amount of SAE 10W-40 motorcycle oil using an oil funnel.

9. Reinsert the dipstick and check the oil level again.

10. Replace the dipstick and securely tighten the dipstick cap.
