I changed the coil on my 1980 Honda cm400 so why im i not getting any spark to plugs?

Here are a few possible reasons why you may not be getting any spark to the plugs after changing the coil on your 1980 Honda CM400:

1. Incorrect Coil Installation: Make sure that the coil is properly installed and connected. Check that the wires are securely attached to the coil terminals.

2. Faulty Spark Plug Wires: Inspect the spark plug wires for damage or cracks. Replace them if necessary. Ensure that the wires are properly connected to the spark plugs and the coil.

3. Spark Plugs: Check the spark plugs to make sure they are in good condition. Clean or replace them if they are worn or fouled. Make sure the spark plugs have the correct gap according to the manufacturer's specifications.

4. Ignition Module: The ignition module could be faulty, preventing the coil from receiving the necessary electrical signals. Check the ignition module for any signs of damage or corrosion, and replace it if necessary.

5. Wiring Issues: Check the electrical wiring related to the ignition system. Look for any loose connections, damaged wires, or corrosion. Repair or replace any faulty wires.

6. Grounding: Make sure the engine and electrical components are properly grounded. Clean and inspect the grounding points and connections.

7. Kill Switch: Ensure that the kill switch is in the "Run" position. A faulty or misaligned kill switch can interrupt the electrical circuit and prevent the spark from reaching the plugs.

If you have checked all of these items and still don't have spark, it's best to consult with a professional mechanic who can diagnose and fix the issue more accurately.
