Materials Needed:
- New engine oil (SAE 20W-50 or as recommended in the owner's manual)
- Oil filter (if equipped)
- Funnel
- Wrench set
- Oil drain pan
- Rags or paper towel
Instructions:
1. Warm up the engine.
- Ride the C 90 for a few minutes to warm up the oil, making it easier to drain.
2. Prepare for drainage.
- Ensure the engine is off and the bike is parked on level ground.
- Place the oil drain pan underneath the oil drain plug, which is usually located at the bottom of the engine.
3. Remove the oil drain plug.
- Use a wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug. Be careful as hot oil may spill out.
4. Allow the old oil to drain.
- Let all of the old oil drain into the pan. This may take several minutes.
5. Replace the oil drain plug.
- Once all the oil has drained, reinstall the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
6. Remove the oil filter (If equipped).
- Some Honda C 90 models may have an oil filter. If equipped, locate the oil filter (usually near the top of the engine) and unscrew it using an appropriate wrench. Be ready for a small amount of oil to spill out.
7. Insert a new oil filter (If applicable).
- If your C 90 has an oil filter, insert the new filter by hand and then tighten it securely with the wrench. Do not overtighten.
8. Add new engine oil.
- Use a funnel to pour the recommended amount of new engine oil into the oil filler hole (usually located near the top of the engine). The correct oil level should be visible on a dipstick or sight glass.
9. Check the oil level.
- Use the dipstick or sight glass to verify the oil level is correct. Add more oil if necessary.
10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- This will circulate the new oil throughout the engine.
11. Recheck the oil level.
- Ensure the oil level is still within the recommended range. Adjust if needed.
12. Clean up.
- Dispose of the old oil and filter properly, and clean up any spilled oil.
