1. Damaged or disconnected wiring:
Check the wiring harness that connects the fan to the electrical system. Ensure there are no frayed, damaged, or disconnected wires. If there are, repair or replace the wiring as needed.
2. Faulty Fan switch or sensor:
The fan is usually controlled by a temperature sensor or switch that turns it on when the engine reaches a certain temperature. Check this sensor or switch to ensure it is functioning correctly. If not, replace it.
3. Blown fuse:
Check the fuse responsible for the radiator fan in your 650 Prairie's fuse box. If the fuse has blown, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage rating.
4. Malfunctioning relay:
The fan may be controlled by a relay. Check the relay for any signs of damage or malfunction. If the relay is faulty, replace it with a new one.
5. Faulty fan motor:
The fan motor itself could be faulty. Test the motor by applying direct power to it. If the motor does not spin or makes unusual noise, it needs to be replaced.
6. Coolant temperature:
Ensure that the coolant temperature is high enough to trigger the fan. If the coolant temperature is low, the fan will not turn on.
Remember to disconnect the battery before working on any electrical components to avoid electrical shock. If you are not comfortable with electrical troubleshooting, it is best to take your ATV to a qualified mechanic.
