Tools and Materials Needed:
New primary oil (type and quantity as specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual)
Oil drain pan
Funnel
New primary oil filter (if equipped)
Rags
Safety goggles

Instructions:
1. Warm Up the Engine:
- Start the motorcycle and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the oil and make it easier to drain.
2. Locate the Primary Oil Drain Plug:
- The primary oil drain plug is usually located on the bottom of the primary oil cover, which is on the left side of the motorcycle.
3. Place Oil Drain Pan:
- Position an oil drain pan directly beneath the primary oil drain plug.
4. Remove Oil Drain Plug:
- Use an appropriate wrench to loosen and remove the primary oil drain plug. Allow the old oil to drain into the oil drain pan.
5. Replace Oil Drain Plug:
- Once the primary oil has drained completely, clean and reinstall the primary oil drain plug. Tighten it securely.
6. Locate Primary Oil Filter (if equipped):
- If your motorcycle has a primary oil filter, it's usually a small canister-type filter mounted near the primary oil drain plug.
7. Remove Primary Oil Filter (if equipped):
- Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the primary oil filter. Discard the old filter.
8. Clean Oil Filter Area:
- Clean the area where the primary oil filter was located, removing any old oil or debris.
9. Install New Primary Oil Filter (if equipped):
- Apply a thin film of new primary oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. Screw the new oil filter into place, hand-tightening it as much as possible.
10. Add New Primary Oil:
- Use a funnel to add the specified amount of new primary oil to the primary oil fill hole, which is usually located near the top of the primary oil cover.
11. Check Oil Level:
- After adding new oil, start the motorcycle and let it run for a few minutes. Check the primary oil level using the sight glass or dipstick if your motorcycle has one.
12. Adjust Oil Level:
- If necessary, add or remove oil to bring the primary oil level to the correct level as specified in the owner's manual.
13. Reinstall Oil Fill Plug:
- Once the oil level is correct, replace and tighten the primary oil fill plug.
14. Dispose of Old Oil and Filter:
- Properly dispose of the old oil and the old primary oil filter in accordance with local environmental regulations.
