1. Park your mower on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Locate the drive belt tensioner. On most Toro Super Recycler mowers, it is located near the front of the engine. It is a black plastic knob or lever.
3. Loosen the drive belt tensioner. Rotate the knob or lever counterclockwise to loosen the tension on the drive belts.
4. Adjust the drive belts. Slide the belts to one side or the other to increase or decrease the tension. The belts should be snug, but not too tight.
5. Tighten the drive belt tensioner. Rotate the knob or lever clockwise to tighten the tension on the drive belts.
6. Check the drive belt tension. To do this, press down on the belts in the middle of their span. They should deflect about 1/4 inch. If the belts deflect more or less than 1/4 inch, adjust the tension accordingly.
7. Once the drive belts are properly adjusted, start the mower and test it out. Make sure that the mower runs smoothly and that the drive belts do not slip.
