1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Open the trunk of your vehicle.
3. Locate the taillight assembly that contains the brake light bulb. It is usually on the side of the vehicle where you want the bulb to be changed.
4. Remove the two plastic screws that hold the taillight assembly in place.
5. Once the screws are removed, gently pry the taillight assembly out of its housing. Be careful not to damage the gasket around the taillight assembly.
6. Locate the brake light bulb. It is usually a red bulb.
7. Press down on the release tab and twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
8. Insert the new brake light bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
9. Reinstall the taillight assembly by inserting it into the housing and replacing the two plastic screws.
10. Close the trunk of your vehicle and test the brake light to make sure it is working properly.
