The chassis for classic Beetles are not all the same and do change with different models. There are several body types (cabriolet, coupe, sedan), body dimensions and engine layouts (front-engine or rear-engine), and various sub-models (Standard, De Luxe, Special, Super, Cabriolet, Karmann Ghia) that result in different chassis configurations. Additionally, there have been changes made over the years in the chassis design and components used throughout the production of classic Beetles.
