Tools Required:
1. A set of wrenches
2. A set of sockets
3. A ratchet
4. An extension bar
5. A torque wrench
6. A fluid drain pan
7. A funnel
8. New transmission fluid
9. A new transmission filter (if applicable)
10. Safety glasses
11. Gloves
Steps:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Raise the vehicle using a jack and jack stands.
5. Drain the transmission fluid.
6. Remove the transmission pan.
7. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler lines.
8. Disconnect the transmission mount.
9. Disconnect the transmission linkage.
10. Remove the starter motor.
11. Remove the torque converter bolts.
12. Disconnect the transmission control module (TCM).
13. Remove the transmission.
Installation:
1. Install the new transmission in the reverse order of removal.
2. Connect the TCM
3. Install the starter motor.
4. Connect the transmission linkage.
5. Connect the transmission mount.
6. Connect the transmission fluid cooler lines.
7. Install the transmission pan.
8. Fill the transmission with new fluid.
9. Connect the negative battery terminal.
10. Lower the vehicle and test drive it to ensure that the transmission is functioning properly.
