How do you remove the starter on a 1995 Tacoma?

Tools:

* Socket wrench set

* 10 mm socket

* 12 mm socket

* Starter removal wrench

* Safety glasses

* Gloves

* Jack

* Jack stands

Instructions:

1. Park your Tacoma on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Open the hood of your Tacoma.

3. Locate the starter. It is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the bottom.

4. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery. This will help prevent you from accidentally starting the engine while you are working.

5. Remove the 12 mm bolts that hold the starter to the engine. There are two bolts in the front of the starter and one in the back.

6. Use the starter removal tool to remove the starter. The starter removal tool is a long, thin tool that fits between the starter and the engine.

7. Once the starter is removed, inspect the starter contacts and solenoid. If they are worn or damaged, they will need to be replaced.

8. Reinstall the starter in reverse order of removal.

9. Reinstall the negative battery cable.

10. Test the starter by starting your Tacoma.
