* Phillips and/or flat head screwdrivers
* 10 mm socket wrench
* Door panel pry bar
Instructions:
1. Open the door and locate the two Phillips screws that are in the door handle pull housing located on the door panel next to the door latch mechanism.
* Remove these screws.
2. Once you remove these screws, the upper door panel should be able to be carefully pried off. Do so to gain access to the remainder of the door's interior.
* Note that there may be plastic inserts that need to be removed beforehand. These are easy to remove by prying them out at any angle.
3. Once the upper panel is removed, locate the door release cable. Disconnect it from the door handle. Use pliers or your hands to disconnect it from the door handle by depressing the small black tab on the connecting head and pulling the connector upwards.
4. Locate the three 10 mm bolts under the door handle in the arm rest area. Remove these three bolts. If you installed window cranks for rolling up and down the windows, there will also be nuts located beneath the bolts and will need to be loosened up as well.
5. The window crank will also have a screw holding the crank to the handle. Remove this to take off the window crank entirely.
6. Lift the door panel upwards using a door panel pry bar.
* Be careful, some wires to door's speakers and door switches may be holding it down.
Here are some additional tips for removing the door panel:
* Start by removing the screws or bolts that are located around the perimeter of the door panel.
* Once the screws or bolts are removed, use a door panel pry bar to carefully pry the door panel away from the door.
* Be careful not to damage the door panel when prying it off.
* If the door panel is still difficult to remove, you may need to use a heat gun or hair dryer to loosen the adhesive that is holding it in place.
* Once the door panel is removed, you will be able to access the interior of the door and perform the necessary repairs or modifications.
