Here are the steps on how to remove the alternator:
- Open the hood and locate the alternator.
-Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
-Use a socket wrench to remove the serpentine belt.
-Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the alternator in place.
-Gently pry the alternator from its position until it comes loose.
-Use an Allen wrench to remove the mounting bolts that hold the alternator to the engine block.
-Once the alternator is free, you can remove it from the vehicle.
Before you reinstall the alternator, be sure to clean the mounting surfaces and apply a little sealant to the gasket. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque settings and reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
